It all started with a microphone...
as two-year-old Amber kicked off her music career with a nursery rhyme solo from a small cafe stage in Austin. Twenty years later, the kiddie folk songwriter has played over five hundred live shows and developed a knack for engaging audiences of any age with wholesome interactive music.
Growing up, she traveled across Central Texas with her family band entertaining thousands of children at festivals, parades, libraries, schools and local restaurants. By high school, Amber co-produced and starred in two shows at the Scottish Rite Theater, interviewed with John Aielli on KUTX, launched a wildly popular family music night at Central Market and published five childrens’ books with a team of artists and writers (including her dad). As she began college at the University of Texas, the singer dipped her toe into songwriting with an original acoustic tune that landed first place and debuted before the entire incoming class at the UT tower.
Now, finishing her degree in journalism, Amber combines songs with storytelling, develops hands-on music curriculum for local schools and continues bringing family-friendly music to both kids and grown-ups. Sometimes she’ll invite young audience members on stage for the "kiddie open mic” – a chance for littles to start their own musical journey. It might start with a microphone.
